Pet Adoption

Stand Up For Animals & Westerly Animal Shelter

SUFA is pleased to refer you to the Westerly Animal Shelter for pet adoption. A pet is a life long responsibility.  The Shelter has a selection of animals available for adoption.  These animals have already been abandoned or given up to us.  It is the Shelter’s responsibility to ensure that the new homes found for them will be their forever homes where they will be cared for and loved unconditionally.

Click below to view the animals currently available for adoption at the Westerly Animal Shelter or call Nikea Killam, the Assistant Shelter Director at (401) 348-2617, (401) 348-2618 or by EMAIL for more details. Please note that the Westerly Animal Shelter and SUFA share the same facility, and our hours are generally the same as theirs.  For Animal Control issues: 401-348-2558

Our Pet of the Month and our Featured Pets are also available for adoption.  For more information about our Pet of the Month or other animals currently up for adoption, contact the number above.

Lizzie ~ August Pet of the Month

(bio provided by the Westerly Shelter)

Lizzie is a 3-year-old-hound/boxer mix. She is spayed, microchipped and all up to date on her shots.  At first glance Lizzie is very curious about her surroundings, when approached by a stranger she is very shy and timid.   It does take some time for her to warm up but when she likes you, she loves you!!

Lizzie is very dedicated and sweet to all that she lets enter her bubble and her connection with you cannot be unbroken. She will need to be in a house without other animals; she has been in a home with children, but it would need to be a quiet setting for her.

Lizzie has energy, she enjoys a good walk, run, or hike then a nice cuddle on the couch. If interested, please contact the Westerly Animal Shelter at 401-348-2618 or [email protected]
