Stand Up For Animals & Westerly Animal Shelter

SUFA is pleased to refer you to the Westerly Animal Shelter for pet adoption. A pet is a life long responsibility.  The Shelter has a selection of animals available for adoption.  These animals have already been abandoned or given up to us.  It is the Shelter’s responsibility to ensure that the new homes found for them will be their forever homes where they will be cared for and loved unconditionally.

Click below to view the animals currently available for adoption at the Westerly Animal Shelter or call Nikea Killam, the Assistant Shelter Director at (401) 348-2617, (401) 348-2618 or by EMAIL for more details. Please note that the Westerly Animal Shelter and SUFA share the same facility, and our hours are generally the same as theirs.  For Animal Control issues: 401-348-2558

Meet Jack – July Pet of the Month!

Jack is a sweet and energetic boy that wants nothing more than to run and do the “zoomies” whenever possible. He is 2 years old, neutered, up to date on shots and micro chipped. Jack will need a structured home with older kids and no other pets. He walks well on a leash when using a martingale collar or a gentle leader. He is very strong so using these methods to walk him is very important. Overall, Jack is a people pleaser that just needs love, patience and understanding. He has the potential to be the best companion for the right family.

If you would like to meet Jack please contact the Westerly Animal Shelter at (401) 348-2617, (401) 348-2618 or EMAIL US to make an appointment. You won’t be disappointed.

Meet Max and Tigger!

UPDATE: Max and Tigger have been ADOPTED and have moved to their fur-ever home with their own room, cat tree and toys!!

Please give a warm welcome to our Feature Pets of the month, Max and Tigger!  Max is a grey and white tiger tabby, he is 10 years old, neutered, up to date on shots and microchipped. Tigger is an orange and white tiger tabby, he is 10 years old, neutered, up to date on shots and microchipped.  Together they are bonded brothers that were brought to us as surrenders back in May of 2019.  They might not look like the happiest boys but who would being cooped up in a cage this long.  All Max and Tigger need is a loving home that understands that they might not be the most affectionate animals but just want a place to call their own.  They should be the only animals in the home, they just want each other and a kind hand to pet and feed them.  Please find it in your hearts to give these young, independent and ultimately sweet cats a chance to stretch their legs, rub their scent on your furniture and lastly just be cats.  If interested or have any more questions please contact the Westerly Animal Shelter at 401-584-7941 or email [email protected].  Send some love to Max and Tigger and give them a home they deserve!
