Pet Adoption

Westerly Animal Shelter & Stand Up For Animals

SUFA is pleased to refer you to the Westerly Animal Shelter for pet adoption. A pet is a life long responsibility.  The Shelter has a selection of animals available for adoption.  These animals have already been abandoned or given up to us.  It is the Shelter’s responsibility to ensure that the new homes found for them will be for the rest of their lives and that they will be cared for and loved. Click below to view the animals currently available for adoption at the Westerly Animal Shelter or call the shelter manager at 401-584-7941 for more details. Please note that the Westerly Animal Shelter and SUFA share the same facility, and our hours are generally the same as theirs.

For Adoption Inquiries: 401-584-7941 | For Animal Control issues: 401-348-2558

Note that the videos below are to show our facility and how it operates. All of the animals shown have been adopted since the creation of these videos. For more information about animals currently up for adoption, contact the number above.

June Pet of the Month – Bones

BONES is an orange and white domestic short haired male cat, approximately 10 years old who desperately misses his human who recently passed away. He was temporarily homed with a friend of the family but unfortunately is set in his ways and couldn’t get along with the other cat resident. He is a friendly but determined cat (just look at his eyes) that enjoys his space but who knows – that could change with the new environment!!
BONES is healthy, neutered, microchipped, up to date with his shots and would seemingly do best in a quiet home preferably without other cats – just to be safe. BONES is not a huge eater but does LOVE his treats!! Please contact the shelter at 401-584-7941 or email Nikea at nkillam@westerlyri.gov if you are interested in meeting BONES.
